OKHS Child Care Assistance
OKHS Child Care Assistance for CAP Tulsa Extended Care
Child care subsidy is available through the federal Child Care and Development Block Grant. It helps parents pay for licensed child care while they are at work, in training or getting an education. The subsidy is paid directly to the child care provider on the family's behalf. The family may have a copayment for the child care based on their income; and the number of family members and the number of family members needing services.
CAP Tulsa’s Extended Care program is a great option if you need additional childcare while working or going to school. Our Extended Care program provides enriching learning opportunities after our regular program hours end at 2:15 pm, until 5:30 pm.
Extended Care program services are available at all CAP Tulsa early childhood education centers, but spots are limited. Please note that Extended Care is requested during application, or check with your child's school for availability after placement.
Families with OKHS Child Care Assistance/Subsidy receive priority placement in the Extended Care program.
We encourage families to apply for OKHS Child Care Assistance/Subsidy benefits to assist with the cost of Extended Care services. Even if your family does not have a co-pay, or services are available at no cost to you, DHS may provide funding to the program to offset some of the costs incurred to operate Extended Care programs. We also accept Tribal Child Care Assistance and private pay.
