Writing Skills
February 27, 2018It is important to give your little one opportunities to practice writing and drawing at home! Drawing helps your child develop their concentration, memory, language, and motor skills.
When your child begins scribbling on paper, they are actually exploring space. Scribbles help them to connect the top and bottom of a piece of paper and all of the space in between. They are also learning about the connection between the movement of their hand and their writing instrument. Offer time during the day for your little one to scribble and explore using age appropriate markers or crayons.
As your child gets older, they’ll begin to draw lines and shapes. They’ll also begin to imitate writing and begin to form the shapes of the letters in the alphabet.
