Teach ThankfulnessNovember 21, 2017
One of the easiest ways to teach thankfulness is by constantly modeling it to your child. Children model their parent in every way, so be sure to say “please” and “thank you” when talking with them. Show thankfulness towards your child each day by saying things such as: “thank you for using your inside voice while we waited in line today” or “thank you for the hug - that made me feel loved!” These are simple to say but important to learn at a young age.
Another way to help teach your child thankfulness is by mentioning things you are grateful for each day with your child. Make it a daily part of your meal time discussion. By talking about the good things that happen in your day frequently, it’s more likely to stick with your child.
