Talk and play!July 24, 2018
Play with your child to help them use their imagination and build their vocabulary!
Encourage your child’s pretend play by asking questions and taking on a role – for example, let them know you’d like to visit their restaurant and ask what’s on the menu. Ask them often to talk about what they’re doing and thinking as they play.
You can provide them with items around home for them to use in their pretend world such as writing materials, empty food containers or old clothes and accessories.
Interacting with your child during play is critical to their language and literacy development!
