Summertime Safety

July 03, 2018

You can keep summer activities fun by practicing important safety measures while playing outside.  When playing outside, be sure to apply sunscreen and reapply often, especially when playing in the water. It is also important to be sure your child is drinking plenty of water to prevent dehydration.

Never leave a child unattended around water, not even for a second. Whenever children are in or around water, they should always wear a proper-fitting life-vest.  Talk to your child about safety at the swimming pool. Share with them that they shouldn’t run or push near a swimming pool or dive or jump into shallow areas.

Water play can be a great way to engage the senses and exercise in the summer. You and your child will enjoy water play by practicing these important safety precautions.
