CAP Tulsa’s early childhood education programs can help you strengthen your relationship with your child while preparing her for kindergarten. Our Teachable Moments provide tips and information to help you connect with your child and make sure they are developmentally on track.
Your child uses the small muscles in their hands each day! They need to develop these fine motor skills to be able to be independent and take on tasks such as getting dressed, eating and writing. There are many activities that you can do at home to increase their muscle strength and coordination.
You can help your child practice these skills by inviting them to do the following:
- Play with play dough or clay (see how to make your own play dough at home here. )
- Paint with brushes
- Build with small blocks
- Put together a puzzle
- Draw with crayons, pencils or markers
